CAR Cells

CAR (Chimeric Antigen Receptor) cells are genetically adapted cells, usually Natural killer or T-cells made to target specific types of cells (often cancers) by adding different genes to the cell to create different receptor.

CAR-T Cells

CAR-T cells are made by collecting some of the patients T-cells and taking to a lab for the gene to be added. Once successful cells are made they grow more cells and then inject them back into the patient.

CAR-NK Cells

CAR-NK cells are made using a type of Natural killer cell called NK-92, a Natural killer cell lacking an inhibitory receptor. From here the cell can be adapted in many ways such as being more adept at ADCC (Antigen dependant Cellular Cytotoxicity) or being able to target the antigen of the specific cell easier.
